Concert tickets through volunteering to Youngsters earn Razorlight

Youngsters from Stoke Newington earned themselves tickets to an exclusive gig by doing four hours voluntary work for the community.Up to 100 Orange RockCorps volunteers weeded the grounds and cleared the ivy during a four hour shift at St Paul's Churchyard in Stoke Newington Road on Saturday afternoon. The volunteers earned tickets to a monumental gig at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday, September 25, starring rock band Razorlight and a host of other top acts including Kelly Rowland and Daniel Merriweather. The project is a partnership between the mobile phone company Orange and the production company RockCorps.Fr Niall Weir, the curate of St Paul's, said: "Their generous giving of their time has transformed this much used churchyard and that will be a real gift to the people of this area."I have no uncertainty that this enormous team of volunteers will be a great inspiration and example to us all of how time and talent freely and happily given can make the world a better place.
