Slam 'shallow' X Factor Razorlight

Razorlight have poured scorn on The X Factor, branding it "shallow" and "brainless" entertainment.
New drummer David 'Scully' Sullivan Kaplan said: "It's just homogenised nonsense actually."
Bassist Carl Dalemo added: "It's very, very shallow entertainment of course every series there's going to be someone who is very good at what they do, like Leona Lewis or whatever, she's a very good singer, but all in all, I think it's fairly brainless entertainment."
The band, in Dublin for the Arthur's Day Guinness celebrations, protested they preferred "honest" music from talent that had not auditioned to appear on reality TV shows
Scully said: "Those gigs pander to utter mediocrity at best in my opinion. I don't think there's anything particular about them.
"Yes people have nice voices or they're handsome or whatever, and there's always that heart warming story, like the underdog is going to make it, and that's great but that doesn't entreaty to me.
"I'd rather (have) honest music from someone who's just grinding it out on their own, and is making nice music. Those shows don't actually do much for me."
Frontman Johnny Borrell was late for rehearsal for the band's Dublin gig after missing his flight.
He said: "It was fashion week I've been partying every night, but I think I might negociate a few more tonight."

Youngsters from Stoke Newington earned themselves tickets to an exclusive gig by doing four hours voluntary work for the community.Up to 100 Orange RockCorps volunteers weeded the grounds and cleared the ivy during a four hour shift at St Paul's Churchyard in Stoke Newington Road on Saturday afternoon. The volunteers earned tickets to a monumental gig at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday, September 25, starring rock band Razorlight and a host of other top acts including Kelly Rowland and Daniel Merriweather. The project is a partnership between the mobile phone company Orange and the production company RockCorps.Fr Niall Weir, the curate of St Paul's, said: "Their generous giving of their time has transformed this much used churchyard and that will be a real gift to the people of this area."I have no uncertainty that this enormous team of volunteers will be a great inspiration and example to us all of how time and talent freely and happily given can make the world a better place.
